A resident of Toronto, Canada, Rabbi Witty is a member of the Beth Avraham Yosef of Toronto (BAYT) Congregation, where he gives daily shiurim (classes) in Halacha (Jewish Law). He is also one of a select group of members privileged to serve as a Shliach Tzibbur/Chazzan (Cantor) for the High Holidays at BAYT. The summer of 2023 marks the 25th year of Rabbi Witty’s BSA Scouting career. In that time he has served as:
- Jewish Chaplain at Ten Mile River Scout Reservation, Greater New York Councils.
- Camp Director, Camp Kunatah, Ten Mile River Scout Reservation, Greater NY Councils.
- Rabbinic Advisor, Sabbath Observant Wood Badge Course NE II-126 in 2002

Rabbi Witty is a Brotherhood member of the Order of the Arrow and is also Wood Badge trained. He is a First Aid Instructor, certified by the Canadian Red Cross, and enjoys teaching First Aid Merit Badge classes. He holds a B.Sc. in Accounting from Yeshiva University and received his Semicha (ordination) from the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, an affiliate of Yeshiva University. Involved in Jewish Education for over 20 years, Rabbi Witty has taught Jewish Studies at the middle school and high school levels and has also served as an administrator. He is very proud of his Shofar Award-recipient wife and all of his children. His three oldest sons are Eagle Scouts.
